The Carpheads have won the last three one-day premierships and have been working hard in the off-season to retain their form.
This year the club is also hoping to bring home the two-day trophy, but Carpheads co-captain Jacob Anderson said the team wasn’t getting too far ahead of itself.
“We’re looking okay at this stage. It’s hard to tell until you start playing and you can see what kind of form you’re in.”

“It’s only the start of the season, but obviously that’s what you’re playing for,” he said.

Narrandera have been the form side of the Leeton District Cricket Association for the past few seasons.
Anderson said the team wouldn’t be taking any clubs lightly.
This weekend they will face the Colts, who have had a decent off-season.
The club has picked up Billy Dickinson and Mackenzie Saddler from the Cougars, but lost all-rounder Mark Burns to the Griffith competition.
Colts president Josh Carn was looking forward to the first round getting underway.
“It’s probably going to be tough … Narrandera has a lot of good players that perform day in and day out,” he said.
“Our training has been going well.
“We’ve been getting good numbers … a lot of younger kids have been turning up, which is good.
“Our biggest thing this weekend will be to bat out the 40 overs and put runs on the board.
“That’s what we struggled with last year.
“Our bowling and fielding hasn’t been too bad in previous years. We’ve been working on everything at training pretty hard.”
Both Carn and Anderson were hesitant to say whether or not they would like to bat or bowl first on Saturday at Narrandera Park.
Anderson said the pitch has received an upgrade and was looking “quite green”.
“It could be a bowler’s paradise, but we just won’t know until we get there,” he said.
Carn agreed and said his side would look at the pitch before making a decision if the Colts won the toss.
