The company recently held a cheque presentation where it divided up prizemoney it took home from the Telstra NSW Business Awards.
Southern Cotton took out the regional award category in Sydney recently and decided instead of keeping the funds for itself it would share them with various charities and organisations.
The company called out for growers to nominate a cause, charity or community project that could use some help.
There were six recipients as a result of the call out.
They were the Leeton Farmers Market, the SteppinOut4Youth centre, Light Up Leeton, Ningana Fine Foods, Leeton Phantoms Rugby Union Club and Barnardos Australia.
Southern Cotton also conducts tours at its Whitton facility where a gold coin donation is collected.
As a result these funds were donated to various branches of Can Assist on the day as well.
Southern Cotton has been on an award-winning streak of late. It took out various accolades at the Leeton Outstanding Business Awards earlier this year, scooped the pool at the regional level, as well as at the Telstra Business Awards.
Southern Cotton general manager Kate O’Callaghan said the support of the the company’s directors, team and the growers – who together had shown an ongoing commitment to achieving the collective goal of being the best gin in Australia – was the reason they had been successful in all aspects of the business this season.
