The Leeton SunRice Festival Ambassador Quest will get underway on December 1, with Madison Coelli the sole entrant to put her hand up so far.
She will be supported by Southern Cotton as her committee.
Ms Coelli will also select a charity that will receive funds raised as part of the quest process.
Festival director Sally Doig said it wasn’t too late to take part.
“It does seem a little crazy to be talking about the festival and Easter when it’s so close to Christmas, but the reality is the Ambassador Quest formally starts at the beginning of December,” she said.
“At the moment we have (one) entrant confirmed and a further two that will hopefully soon confirm as well.
“There’s no limit on the number of entrants. We would love to see as many as possible.
“Male, female, younger, older, married or not married. It’s open to everyone.”
However, entrants must be aged 17 or over.
As part of the quest, participants hold a number of fund-raising events that contribute to their final fund-raising tally.
This money is then distributed back to the community via the festival committee, as well as their chosen committee and charity.
“We’re really excited this year to see (a) new committee that we haven’t had before come on board,” Mrs Doig said.
“We should also mention if there are people out there that want to take part, but don’t know where to start or how to get a committee involved that they can come to us and we can match them up.”
Two winners are chosen at the end of the quest and announced on Easter Saturday.
The overall Ambassador and the Highest Fund-raising Ambassador both win a travel package, as well as the knowledge they have helped their community.
“They also get so much out of it personally,” Mrs Doig said.
“Most will tell you they have gained more confidence and learned more about the community they are part of. It’s a fantastic experience.”
