Southern Cotton hosted its annual pre-harvest grower breakfast last week to ensure growers were fully across any advances in technology.
The initiative also allowed the business to make growers aware of what’s happening in the industry, as well as at Southern Cotton.
There were four presenters on the day – Andrew Watt, Patrick McDonnell, Honi Anderson and Kate O’Callaghan.
Mr Watt, representing Hutcheon and Pearce, spoke about picker data set up, while Mr McDonnell from ProClass spoke about the new Griffith classing office.
Mr Anderson, from Cotton Australia, focused on best management practice, while Mrs O’Callaghan discussed Southern Cotton’s new grower app.
The app allows growers to have real-time access to their information throughout the ginning process.
For many growers, picking started this week, with many predicting a bumper crop.
