Leeton umpire John Warren is organising a L2 Laws of Cricket training program to be held in town on June 25 and 26.
The workshop will be for prospective umpires and is open to all across the region.
The course will be facilitated by Darren Goodger.
Early indications are that the course in could be well attended by around 15 to 20 umpires or those that wish to become game officials.
Riverina Cricket Zone Umpires representative Pat Kerin said it was an opportunity for those in the Leeton area to obtain a recognised umpiring qualification.
“It may even interest those involved in coaching, managing a junior club and representative teams,” he said.
“The knowledge gained from the course will not harm anyone involved in cricket.
“We look forward to an enjoyable and successful weekend.”
The event will be held at the Heritage Motor Inn on the Saturday from 9am to 5pm and 9am to 2.30pm the following day.
The assessment will follow for one hour at the end of that day and will take about an hour.
Cost is $40 per person.
