The white Volvo prime mover was carrying refrigerated dairy products about 10 kilometres east of Barellan Road when it rolled onto its passenger side on the side of the road.
Inspector Kim Traynor from Griffith Local Area Command said markings on the road indicated the truck veered onto the wrong side of the road before being overcorrected and rolling on the shoulder.
“The driver, a 33-year-old man from Victoria, sustained significant injuries including severe lacerations to the face and head,” Inspector Traynor said.
“The injuries were not life-threatening and we’ll be looking to take action when we’ve spoken with the driver.”
Police, rescue squad and firefighters were in attendance and the driver was taken to Narrandera Hospital.
There was no disruption to traffic.
