THERE is no doubt while Tuesday was a celebration of the late Stephanie Scott, there are still many wounds that need healing.

It’s easy to say time will assist with that, but in this case maybe not so much.
As Stephanie’s mother Merrilyn said at the opening of the amphitheatre in her daughter’s honour “we just have to hold on and be strong and eventually the sun must come out again”.
The new structure at Leeton High School is a magnificent testament to the impact Stephanie had on the students and staff during her time there.
There is no doubt she made life brighter for everyone she knew well and not so well.
It’s heartbreaking for her family and for the staff, students and wider community to have to endure the process they are.
It can only be hoped that this new amphitheatre will allow them to remember Stephanie with a smile and a giggle.
I doubt there would have been a better way to honour her bright personality and everything she stood for.
It’s certainly a class act from the school and all those that contributed through monetary donations, labour and the design.
The opening was also a true testament to Stephanie.
Students stood as one and will use this new space to be creative, be themselves and remember their teacher.
This is a situation that no family, school or even human being should ever have to go through.
There’s no sugar-coating the fact that this should never have happened.
The only thing we as a community can continue to do is continue to wrap our arms around Stephanie’s loved ones.
One can only hope justice will be brought and the family will be able to be given some form of closure.
If that is even remotely possible.
I don't think this is ever something one can truly recover from.
Hopefully what will happen now is Stephanie’s everlasting legacy will continue to shine through as her students live every day.
Unfortunately even in the worst of scenarios the world keeps turning even when it feels as though it should stop and not start up again.
The true testament to Stephanie will be her students that attend LHS now and in to the future live each day to the fullest and achieve their every dream in her honour.
