Inspector Kim Traynor from Griffith Local Area Command said police were frustrated by people continuing to think they would get away with drink driving.
Shortly after midnight on Sunday a 47-year-old woman was driving a yellow Daewoo on Kurrajong Avenue when she was stopped for a random breath test.
“The woman went mid-range at the roadside and was taken to Leeton Police Station where she returned a reading of 0.099,” Inspector Traynor said. “Her license was suspended and she will face Leeton Local Court on July 15.”
A 28-year-old man was stopped less than an hour later driving on Corbie Hill Road in a blue Mitsubishi. Inspector Traynor said he also returned a mid-range reading and given a court attendance notice. Police also caught a low-range drink driver, with a reading of 0.064, on Friday night.
“Police will continue to be out there conducting random breath tests,” Inspector Traynor said. “Even a midrange drink driver can have their license suspended on the spot.”
