Leeton’s Westpac Bank branch has granted the organisation $500 as part of its foundation community grants program.
Men’s Shed chairman Ian Errey said the money couldn’t have come at a better time.
“Part of it will go towards buying new specialised tools,” he said.
The Men’s Shed is a not-for-profit organisation and one of its major objectives is to advance the well being and health of its members through activities, service and the community.
“We currently have about 60 members all up, with about 10 to 15 turning up each day that we’re open,” Mr Errey said. “We’re really thankful for this donation.”
Westpac Leeton manager Joe Nardi said it had been tough selecting the recipient, but the Men’s Shed application did stand out.
“It was hard to choose … the Men’s Shed do a lot of hard work in our community, so it’s definitely deserved,” he said.
