The Rotary Belle of the Ball gala evening will again be held on Friday night, with organisers preparing for a packed crowd.
Each year a Belle of the Ball is crowned from debutantes that take part in the night after having already participated in the two other balls in Leeton earlier in the year.
Last year’s winner Gisella Mandaglio will be present on the night, along with Member for Murray Adrian Piccoli and Member for Farrer Sussan Ley and other dignitaries.
Organiser Roz Thompson said many of the young ladies and their partners were taking part “for the fun of it”.
“A lot of them decide when they find out the criteria for judging that they will just concentrate on having a good time,” she said.
“The title doesn’t really concern them too much.
“They more just want to have a great night out with family and friends.”
The ball is a major fundraiser each year for the Rotary Club of Leeton, with funds then distributed back in to the community.
The Belle of the Ball is chosen during a judging process that focuses on poise, presentation and more.
“It’s very hard for the judges each year,” Ms Thompson said.
Doors open 7pm. See Ms Thompson for tickets on the night.
