It was blowing a gale at the Exies Oval and TLU ran with the wind in the first half and went into the sheds up 24-0.
There was plenty of points in the wind and the home side stormed back into the game in the second half.
The Waratahs drew level and looked like they might run over the top of the Sharks.
Instead, it was TLU’s Jesse Wighton who broke the deadlock by scoring his third try of the match and clinched the win for the Sharks.
Ring said while the wind was hard to handle, his players didn’t help themselves in the second stanza.
“In the first half we only dropped one ball, we worked to our structures got to our kicks,” Ring said.
“In the second, we dropped a lot of ball and spent pretty much the whole half defending.”
Waratahs coach Kose Lelei was on song with a hat-trick of tries to his name.
