The 16-year-old girl was walking in Jarrah Street about 2.45pm on Tuesday when she was approached by a 19-year-old female that is known to her.
According to police, the 19-year-old punched the younger girl who fell to the ground and was then allegedly kicked numerous times.
It was only when passers-by stopped to help that the attack stopped and the 19-year-old left the scene.
