The event is held each year at schools across the country, with Parkview students eagerly picking up a book or two this week. There was an array of different genres to choose from, as well as other items such as book marks, pencils and more.
Parkview Public librarian Cathy Dando was pleased to see students so enthusiastic about books and reading.
“We’ve had a fantastic response from all ages this year,” she said.
“Diaries have also been a big seller, which is surprising. It’s great to see children are still interested in reading as it’s such an important skill.”
Part of the proceeds from the fair help to provide resources for the school’s library.
