The Crows flew into the first quarter with intensity, almost instinctively reading the Rovers strategy.
As Coolamon tried their best, they did not appear to have what it took to match Leeton-Whitton’s game.
The siren rang out and at quarter-time the Crows held an early lead of 4.5 (29) to 2.1 (13).
The team tore into the Hoppers in the second quarter, leaving little question of the match’s final outcome.
Though Coolamon fought back, they had only managed to kick three points in the quarter.
The halftime break had the Crows flying high with a massive 50-point lead.
The onslaught continued throughout the third quarter as Leeton-Whitton continued to stay one step ahead of the the Hoppers and always in their road.
At three quarter-time Leeton-Whitton held a huge 70 point lead over Coolamon.
The siren at full-time signaled not just the end of the match, but Coolamon’s suffering was finally over.
Averaging 33-points a quarter and led from the front by coach Jade Hodge who kicked seven goals for the side, the Crows smashed the Rovers 19.18 (132) to 7.11 (53).
“They battled really hard, and they’ve done a fantastic job to get the win,” Hodge said.
“We’re starting to play some consistent footy, but we can’t get ahead of ourselves.”
Leeton-Whitton remain in third place on the ladder and only four points behind Mangoplah CUE as the season is rapidly drawing to a close.
With his eye on the prize, Hodge kept his focus on what the team needs to accomplish in order to be a contender for a premiership title.
“We fell away from our structures in the second half, and at times, we let them score too easy,” he said.
“We’re running forward of the football, forward of the contest and having no numbers behind the footy.
“That’s where Wagga cut us up last time.
“If we really want to be there at the end of the year those are the type of things we are going to need to fix.”
Next on the menu, the Crows will face off against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong on the road, who currently sit in sixth on the ladder.
