MEMBER for Murray Adrian Piccoli has joined the call for the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to lodge an appeal against the sentence imposed on Marcus Stanford last week.

“I know that the NSW Premier, Mike Baird has directed the Attorney General to review the case given the leniency of the sentence imposed,” Mr Piccoli said.
“The actions of the perpetrators have changed the community of Leeton forever and to see that punished so lightly is cruel.
“The community has suffered enough.
“The support of the DPP in launching an appeal would be some small comfort to the people of Leeton and beyond.”
Stanford was last week sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to being an accessory after the fact to Stephanie Scott’s murder.
He will be released from jail on September 9.
