The Sharks grow an extra leg on their home turf and Yanco-Wamoon co-coach Glenn Dumbrell knows it.
Add to it the form the minor premiers have been in this year and a grand final spot on the line and it makes for a daunting task on Sunday.
However, Dumbrell said Yanco-Wamoon was more than up to the task.
“They’ll pretty much be the same they have been all year, strong in middle and fast out wide,” Dumbrell said.
“The crowd is going to go get right behind them.
“They have one of the best supporter bases in the competition.
“It’s just going to be a tough challenge.”
The Tullibigeal-Lakes United supporters are the backbone of the club and captain-coach Tim Ring said the home ground advantage was a massive boost for his side.
“It’s really important – we’re probably harder to beat at home with the crowd behind us,” Ring said.
The two sides met just a fortnight ago to play off for the minor premiership.
While TLU was victorious in that encounter, Ring said there was areas his side needed to improve on.
“We’re not taking them lightly at all,” he said.
“Both sides probably didn’t play their best on the day. We turned over a lot of ball in the first half. I think if we stick to our structures and everyone turns up to perform – that’ll go a long way.”
Dumbrell has taken pride in his side’s defence this year, but the past two weeks has seen the Hawks leak more points than usual.
After conceding 18.8 points on average during the regular season – the best in the competition – in the last two games Yanco-Wamoon has let in 28 points each match.
“Our defence was fantastic all year,” Dumbrell said.
“Just the last couple of weeks our slide defence has been our problem.
“Leeton didn't score any easy ones through the middle.
“I’m not too concerned. Everyone will be up for it.”
TLU has had a lack of game time in the past three weeks. However, Ring made sure his side was put through its paces last weekend.
“It’s a hard one to know whether two weeks off out of three is going to beneficial or not,” he said.
“We had a really good session on Saturday. We got a personal trainer down from Melbourne to give us a good hit out.”
The match will be played at Lake Cargelligo Sportsground on Sunday at 3pm.
