Attracting members from far and wide, those attending managed to evade floods and arrived at the Jockey Club for a week’s worth of festivities designed to showcase Leeton’s features.
Of the 135 expected, 86 were unable to attend.
Those who did make it, braved floodwaters and rains and were glad they did.
“It was absolutely fantastic,” said event co-ordinator Doreen Watts.
“Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“Even though we had the rain that we’ve had down here, it hasn’t dampened anybody’s spirit.
“They’ve come through the floods, they’ve had rain all the way, but they still came.
“We’re a big family.”
With 49 motorhomes attending, receipt totals as of Sunday morning show the group spent $25,468 while in Leeton.
Many enjoyed their visit to the shire so much they look forward to a return in the future.
