The pair were both elected unopposed during Wednesday night’s meeting after no other councillor decided to contest either position.
Both have been elected for a two-year term.
In previous years in Leeton an election was held every 12 months.
Cr Maytom said it was a role he continued to be passionate about.
“I have been doing it for some time now, but I do believe I have the skills and drive to get the results our community wants,” he said.
“It’s certainly not a role I feel entitled to, but I’m glad to be able to represent as the mayor once again.
“I’m pleased councillors and the community continue to have faith in me.”
Wednesday night’s meeting was also the first since the recent local government election.
New councillors Sandra Nardi, Tony Reneker, Tony Ciccia and Paul Smith were sworn in during their inaugural ordinary meeting.
Cr Maytom said it was crucial Leeton continued to be a stable council.
“The good thing about our council is there no one is here for political gain or has a hidden agenda,” he said.
“We’re all here to represent the community to the best of our ability and that’s something we can be proud of.
“We have achieved some excellent results and we must stay united in order to keep moving forward.”
Cr Maytom said it was essential council continued to work hard under Fit for the Future in order to help Leeton shire remain as a standalone council well into the future.
“We do know we certainly have some big challenges ahead of us,” he said.
For Cr Weston, he was pleased to also be able to return for another term.
“This is something I enjoy doing,” he said.
“I’m not much of an orator, I’m more of a worker, so I’m looking forward to getting more good results for the people of our town.
“I think we have a great team on board for the next four years, so I’m certainly looking forward to working with everyone.”
Returning councillor Peter Davidson, along with Crs Maytom and Weston were also officially sworn in on the night. Councillors Tracey Morris and Michael Kidd were unable to attend the meeting.
