Earlier this week, police released a statement calling on the community to assist it with inquiries into the incident.
Police had alleged a 17-year-old from Leeton was sexually assaulted in Roxy Lane on Saturday about 4pm.
However, they have now withdrawn this appeal to the public.
A statement released from NSW Police Media said following reports reports three men allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, they had now finalised investigations.
“Officers from Griffith Local Area Command, assisted by the State Crime Command Sex Crimes Squad, conducted a thorough investigation into the incident,” the statement said.
“As a result of inquiries, no further investigations will be made into the incident.”
At the time of the initial release of information from police, the Leeton community was outraged.
One user on social media commented “not safe even in broad daylight”, while another said “what is happening to Leeton?”.
Police have thanked the community for their assistance in the matter.
As a result of inquiries, no further investigations will be made into the incident.
