The event was held this week.
With the wet winter the course has taken a hammering and forced the cancellation of a lot of golf and we were seriously looking at having to move the event out of town.
However, with a bit of a weather break and some long hours we were able to get the course up and playable for the near 300-round event.
There were some unusual hazards like hay, and some long grass areas, but the course was truly appreciated by the regular visitors for its condition.
Once again many thanks.

Address to Australia
AS A nation, where do we stand?
My answer is “in the proverbial s***”.
We are, to coin a phrase, bankrupt.
The Treasury is bare and indeed incurring an ever-increasing deficit.
Why? Well, as we all know, the mining boom, which contributed huge amounts of taxes etc to the Treasury, is no more.
Our only exports, namely iron ore and coal are way down, both in price and quantity because China is on the blink too and has decreased imports.
Our manufacturing people are in the disastrous position because of high wages and lower world prices that sales don’t even meet production, thus operate a loss, which if continued is bankruptcy per se.
Just look at Whyalla.
Thousands of workers are being sacked at this very moment, adding an intolerable burden to dole payouts, as well as cessation of their tax contributions to the government.
Government just cant fund the insatiable appetites of hospitals and schools, both in dire and dangerous situations.
The average national income is decreasing drastically because part-time has replaced full-time, thus more tax failure.
It means that inevitable cuts in pensions must follow.
Indeed pensions have already been reduced by $4 per week.
But as there is no bone in the old mother’s cupboard there will be no bone for the poor doggie.
The old people’s homes, which are mostly reliant on pensions for income, will just collapse completely.
I conclude with a quote from Jeremiah in the Bible (Old Testament) which I have quoted three times in past letters.
“What we greatly feared, hath come upon us”.

Help reduce risk
WITH over one million Australians now either living with cancer or having survived a diagnosis, getting back to a healthy lifestyle after cancer is one of the most important things cancer survivors can do for their health.
Cancer Council NSW is encouraging cancer survivors from the area to join its free Healthy Living after Cancer program to make positive, long term changes to their lifestyle this spring.
There is a need for programs like this to help people get active, eat well and stay cancer free.
Every little bit helps and making healthy lifestyle choices can also reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.
Spring is a great time to reignite your motivation and make some healthy lifestyle choices.
