Operations manager Tim Macgillycuddy said a NSW Government grant of $161,000 will allow for an increase in capacity to 27,000 tonnes per year.
The news is being welcomed by the recycling plant’s loyal workforce of 90 people, which includes 60 supported workers who have some form of disability.
Mr Macgillycuddy said the upgrade would mean the plant could handle 12 tonnes of material per hour.
John Condron, who has worked on the belt and as a driver and a supervisor for 23 years said his workers were reliable and honest.
“We have a lot of laughs, but they are just good workers,” he said.
