Leeton won the toss and launched into the match led by batsmen Brent Lawrence (56) and Nathan Tang (31).
The pair formed a valuable 92-run partnership that would prove to put on the bulk of Leeton’s runs. Ninety-two well earned runs in, Tang would be the first to fall.
Bowled and caught by Griffith’s Dom Brown, Tang would be replaced by Hugh Collins (3).
Collins would be retired by Hicken (1) before having a lasting impact on the course of the game. Nathan Carn (53*) would be brought in to fill the gap left by Collins.
Carn’s efforts would prove fruitful, pushing even further against Griffith’s ineffective bowling.
At this point in the match, Lawrence’s contributions would be cut off as he was retired by Dom Brown.
Jarryd Day (9) would attempt to fill Lawrence’s shoes, but was unable to break into double digits before being caught out by J. Breed off a ball delivered by Pascoe.
Jacob Anderson (1*) would come in after Day and help finish with four wickets still remaining.
Griffith would now take the field to chase Leeton’s 191 runs.
Brown (39) and Potter (2) would start things off for the side with Potter quickly caught out by Nathan Lanham.
Pascoe (79) replaced the quickly departing Potter, and proceeded to chip away at Leeton’s lead.
Brown was brought to a halt when he was bowled out by Hugh Collins (4). P Wittard (1) made a brief appearance before being caught and bowled by Collins and was replaced by B Hicken (1).
Hicken also fell victim to Leeton, and was replaced by Bozic who failed to put any runs up for Griffith before being bowled by Collins.
Breed filled the void left by Collins and would be the only remaining batsman to score double digits for the remainder of the match.
Griffith all out, had only managed to put up 167 runs against Leeton in the first rep cricket match of the season for both teams. Leeton proved superior on the day in every way.
