Round two is now done and dusted, with Kurtis DePaoli taking out player of the week honours.
DePaoli had a brilliant 10 under par 26, which Leeton golf pro Jason Mimmo labelled as an improvement on his round one score.
“(He is) adjusting to his new clubs, while competing in his first ever twilight comp,” Mimmo said.
Mimmo said there were many other notable performances in round two.
“Frank Alampi is a natural sportsman and this showed as his 41 off the bat
equated for an eight under par nett 28 for the slow-starting LUFC Drop Bears,” he said.
“Harry Page also shot 41 off the bat for his ‘honeymoon’ round for the year – a nett 29.
“Bruce Harrison, Jake Stevenson and Tony Napier all shot superb 30s and Blake Carroll, Wayne Gordon, Bailey Stanmore, Mal Henman, David Lang and Tyh Evans all had 5 under nett 31s.”
All non-Australian Golf Union handicap players will now lose however many shots they break 36 by and members lose a maximum of four shots.
“This will equate to some radical team fluctuations in the coming weeks until handicaps settle,” Mimmo said.
The best team total of the round was Dead Solid Perfect on 162 followed by Men at Work on 168 and Swig n Swing on 171.
The Munchausens and the Bald Eagles also had solid team rounds with a seven under par team total of 173.
