Not only will a huge mural depicting the Battle of Beersheba be unveiled during a special ceremony at the Leeton Soldiers Club, but historic quilts will also be on display.
The mural was painted by Warwick Deane, who is a renowned artist that resides in Leeton. To add to the occasion, the Leeton RSL-Sub branch has organised for the quilts to be on display as part of the event.
These will include the Lest We Forget, the We Will Remember Them quilts, and others that have been made to provide comfort to homeless veterans that have returned from battle. The quilts have a high profile and have been viewed by the likes of former Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
They have also recently been taken to battlefields at Poziers and Fromelles.
Residents have been encouraged to view the quilts at the Leeton Soldiers Club on Saturday and learn about their history. The unveiling of the mural will be held at the club on Saturday at 6pm and will be followed by a dinner.
