Children laughed and played on a warm, summer evening as the night got underway.
The P&C committee set up and started the sausages rolling across the barbecue all while anticipating a good turnout for the annual event.
P&C committee president Linda Newman was pleased with the show of support for the school.
“We’ve had over $900 in vouchers and we’ll be raffling off 30 hams and 12 chickens,” Mrs Newman said.
“(The night is) absolutely always supported by both communities (Whitton and Murrami).”
Funds will go towards the P&C committee to be used for school resources such as sporting equipment and transportation for swimming lessons.
The P&C recently helped pay for nets and rackets to go with the school’s new tennis courts.
