After being destroyed by fire in 2011, the building has finally been reduced to rubble.
Last year demolition work to remove the attached bottle shop and facade of the building was undertaken by its former owner.
The site was auctioned off about six months ago, with new owner Anthony Boots pleased to have movement on the site.
He said there had been some delays in getting the work done.
“Because of all the rain we had, there were some issues in getting equipment and that sort of thing to do it,” Mr Boots said.
“The priority was for the equipment to be used for our agricultural (industries) … that was certainly okay with me.
“They (farmers) needed to get in and get going and we know without agriculture our town would be dead.”
Mr Boots is keeping his plans for the site under wraps, but said residents could expect to perhaps see some more progress at the location next year.
“I do have plans for the site, but it’s very much in the early stages,” he said.
“There’s a lot that still needs to happen first before anything can get started.
“I am pleased we can get now get it all cleaned up.”
The Hydro Tavern was destroyed by fire when a disgruntled patron broke in and started the blaze on July 16, 2011.
Leonard Rappley Osbourne was originally charged with maliciously destroying premises by fire, but the matter was withdrawn and dismissed on March 24, 2012.
Mr Osbourne was sentenced to two years jail for the charge of break, enter and steal after police found a cash tin and the money believed to be taken from the Hydro Tavern's poker machines inside his home the day he was arrested.
Mr Osbourne was caught on tape about 5am smashing a window and climbing into the gaming area of the pub.
He used a stick to push up the surveillance camera in the room, so it pointed at the roof, before breaking into the "hopper" box of at least one poker machine.
He then stole $6500 from the machines before leaving the hotel.
An hour later closed-circuit television (CCTV) showed a vehicle drive to the tavern and an unidentified man approaching the broken window.
The tape shows the man standing in front of the window as a "large fireball" exploded through the opening and the man running off with what the court was told "appeared to have both forearms and hands on fire".
