The Leeton Motor Sports Club is set to host a huge program on Saturday night in its first meeting for the 2016-17 season.
The night of racing will be headlined by the Graham Bourke Memorial for production sedans and the NSW Title for Legend Cars.
A strong field of a dozen production sedans will take to the track for the third running of the race, which commemorates the late Graham Bourke and his contribution to the club.
Last season’s winner was his son Wayne, who will be hoping to retain the trophy.
Fellow Leeton drivers Justin Hawkins, who won the inaugural trophy, his brother Nathan Hawkins, Danny Harrison, Lindsay Manning, Andrew Cunningham and Charlie Ball will be hot on his heels. Also hoping to pocket the prizemoney will be former NSW champion Rodney Anderson.
With defending NSW champion James Duckworth not contesting this Saturday night’s NSW Title for Legend Car, it opens for the chances for the nominated 17 drivers from around the state of NSW and also the ACT.
After winning last season’s ACT Title in Leeton, Rob Rawlings Junior, who is also the current Australian Champion, is aiming to add the NSW Title to his resume.
Also in action on the night are the GOSA sedans that will compete for the annual Ray Chaffey Memorial, with 15 cars nominated, along with a total of eight sports sedans that will make up the support program.
Gates open at 5pm, with entry $25 for adults and children under 16 free.
