EMERGENCY services are responding to a serious crash on the Sturt Highway between Hay and Narrandera.
The crash, which occurred about 9am on Wednesday involves a heavy vehicle and a passenger vehicle.
Police said there are currently two persons trapped in the passenger vehicle.
The highway is closed in both directions with traffic diversions being arranged, but motorists are advised to expect delays, particularly heavy vehicles.

The State Emergency Service are currently on the scene working to free the two occupants trapped inside a twin-cab ute.
Travellers are being urged to avoid the area as the Sturt Highway remains closed with diversions in place.
Westbound travellers are being diverted along Carrathool Road , Murrumbidgee Road in Carrathool and then onto the Mid Western Highway.
Eastbound motorist are being diverted Mid Western Highway to Griffith then Kidman Way to Darlington Point to return to the Sturt Highway.
