Leeton shire residents will have this opportunity on Wednesday when the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) holds an information session via a “pop-up shop” at the Roxy Theatre.
Participants will be able to attend from 9am to 11.30am during the session to sit down with MDBA staff to learn more about water management relevant to them and to hear what is happening in 2017.
MDBA chief executive Phillip Glyde said the meeting was a chance to reassure people the proposed changes in the north would not impact water entitlement holders in the south.
“While the period for public submissions is open, it’s important people have the opportunity to understand what is being proposed and express their perspectives,” he said.
“That’s why we are holding southern basin information sessions. In addition we will have program experts on hand to talk about other areas that might affect the south.”
