The Colts easily succumbed to Narrandera last Saturday, but with a new match in sight, senior player Josh Carn was confident of a form turnaround.
The Colts will welcome back Alex Crelley, Dylan Barnes, Nathan Carn and Callum Bell, who were all out last weekend.
“Alex and Dylan have been away, so it will be good to have them back,” Carn said.
“Alex is a good little all-rounder … he can bat lower in the order and put on some good runs, as well as being a handy bowler.
“Dylan can be really steady for us as an opener or at three or four.
“I think that’s what we need at the moment.
“Someone that is going to stick around at the crease.”
The Colts problem all season as been the side’s inability to put on substantial runs when setting a target or in the chase.
“We’re lacking consistency with the bat,” Carn said.
“We know there’s guys that can put on a lot of runs, so when we’re not doing it, it can be frustrating.
“Hopefully we can dig in this weekend.”
The Colts will face the Phantoms on Saturday in a two-day match, which will test both sides.
Both have performed to about the same level in the 2016-17 season, meaning a win is crucial for either side.
“The last time we played them was in a one-dayer and they best us pretty easily I think,” Carn said.
“Hopefully this time around we can come out switched on and perform a lot better.
“Having Nathan back this weekend is also handy for us with the bat and the ball.”
Carn said the player to watch for the Phantoms was Steve Weckert.
“He’s always the key,” he said.
“Every time he plays us he seems to get wickets and runs. We’ll have to shut him down.”
