LEETON Public school have made it through to the third round of the state primary schools knockout after wins over Narrandera Public and Parkview Public.

The wins take them closer to a chance at the Brian Taber Shield in the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) statewide cricket knockout.
In the first match Leeton Public School played Narrandera Public School. Winning the toss, LPS chose to send Narrandera into bat. LPS bowled tightly, against an inexperienced Narrandera team who score 28 runs.
All the LPS students bowled with standouts being Kurt Young taking 3/4 in his three overs and Tom Allen who took 3/1 off his three overs. The run chase was over quickly after just eight overs.
The opening batters, Tom Allen (8) and Jayden Broadbent (13) scored the required total.
In the second match LPS played the winner of the other round one game in Parkview Public School. After again winning the toss LPS sent Parkview into bat.
A young Parkview team batted out their 20 overs and amassed a total of 33 runs.
The wickets were shared around as Broadbent, Jhi Grundy, Cohen Matthews and Logan Matthews each took a wicket while Flynn Anthony took two wickets.
Blake Anthony bowled four overs and only went for three runs while Charlie Lamont went for six runs off three overs.
The opening batters Flynn Anthony and Charlie Lamont chased down the target of 34 in 10 overs.
Leeton Public School now progress to the third round of the PSSA cricket competition, which will be played in the near future.
