The college started the game strongly and made the most of the early attacking play.
Ty Fletcher crossed to open the scoring for the college before Elwyn Ravu who lead his side all across the park found his way across the line by the barest of margins.
Braxton Wallace also crossed before half-time to give St Francis a 14-nil lead at the break.
Coming back out from the break YAHS knew they needed to respond quickly if they were to have any chance of getting back into the game.
William Barnes took to the challenge of getting his side back into the match scoring in the corner.
St Francis were not going to lay down as Hugh Collins made his way around the YAHS defensive line to cross next to the post.
It was a fight Yanco Ag refused to back out off with their best one ground, Barnes crossing again after breaking through the St Francis defence.
Oswald Herrman brought the score to within eight points after his side stretched the tired St Francis line to find space outside to score.
It was as close as YAHS got despite putting sustained pressure on the St Francis line they were unable to find any holes and the college were able to walk away 20-12 victors.
St Francis were also able to start their league tag defence with a four-point win over Yanco Ag.
The three-time champions made a strong start in the game with the college scoring the first two tries through Tess Staines and Kiara Bloomfield.
YAHS were quick to reply with Chloe Ward scoring two of the tries to bring the game within two points.
Tess Staines crossed again and with the conversion from Kendra Tyack moved the lead back out to eight points.
YAHS brought the game back into reach again with Abbey Mellosley crossed.
It was the conversion attempts which let YAHS down because they scored the same amount of tries they kicked two less conversions.
St Francis will be looking to wrap up both titles when they take on Leeton High next week.
