The Carpheads have maintained their stranglehold on the Leeton District Cricket Association’s A grade competition all season and will be looking to maintain that this weekend.
In their way will be Yanco, the team Narrandera defeated in the one-day final last month.
The two sides haven’t met since that clash.
With Narrandera aiming for its third consecutive two-day grand final premiership, senior player Brent Lawrence said the side was ready to go.
“We’ve got a full side to pick from, which is always nice going into finals,” he said.
The Carpheads and Yanco will be playing at Narrandera Park.
“It’s definitely good to have the home ground advantage,” Lawrence said.
“Rohan (Rehwinkel) and Tom (Robinson) have done a great job in preparing the wicket all year (at Narrandera Park).
“I would say it’s one of, if not the best, wicket and ground in the competition this year. We’re looking forward to playing there.”
Both of the two-day finals will be played across Saturday and Sunday, instead of over two weekends.
“I don’t think anyone is going to be too sore or anything for the second day,” Lawrence said.
“I think it’s better to be playing over the two days. If you’ve done well on the first day everyone is usually pretty pumped to carry that momentum on.
“On the other hand, if you haven’t, the motivation is there to improve and get the match back in your favour.” Lawrence said if his side was to defeat Yanco it would take consistency and patience throughout the two days.
“Yanco have played well this season … they’ve got some really good young guys in their team,” he said.
“Hopefully our experience will come through.” The other two-day final this weekend will be between the L&D CC Ferrets and the Leeton Soldiers Club Colts.
