WINNER: Lorraine Mullins was the drawn winner in social bowls this week for Leeton District bowls.

L&D: A number of our players combined with other members in our district travelled to Gundagai last Tuesday to compete in the Towning Shield. The gusty winds and heavy greens were a challenge for even our best players. The new format of playing one Twilight game of 21 ends and one morning game of 21 ends proved popular. The Riverina District were the winners on 11 and South Western the runners up on 10.

The drawn winners for social bowls were Lorraine Mullins and Joan Bourke. Marika Pete won both the lucky draw and raffle.

The District Triples Championships start today at the Leeton and District Club at 8.30am. Our Clubs Triple Tournament is April 1. Entries close March 25. Forms from the club or Hilary Chambers.

We have a team travelling to Darlington Point on Wednesday for their President’s Day.

LSC: Both winners and runners up had easy wins. Joan Dale and Margaret McKenzie were winners and Laurel Cox, Jennie Pike and Beryl Breed were runners up. Joan Dale also gained a resting toucher under variable wind conditions.

This week the team of Beryl Breed, Margaret McKenzie and Laurel Cox will travel to Darlington Point for President’s day.

District Triples start today. Play begins at 9am this week.
