IT MIGHT only be a pre-season competition, but rest assured Yanco-Wamoon and Leeton will be giving their all when the rivals meet on Saturday.

The two sides progressed to the semi-finals of the Paul Kelly Knockout last weekend and will come up against each other to determine who will make the final.
It’s a tantalising match for Group 20 fans, with the two clubs also preparing to go head-to-head in round one of this year’s competition in a matter of weeks.
Hawks coach Glenn Dumbrell said his team was looking forward to the match up.
“Last weekend I thought we went alright … that’s the first time we’ve played a game in the pre-season.
“That’s why these sorts of knockouts are good. Clubs aren’t having to organise their own trial games, so it’s good that way.”
The Hawks have recruited well in the off-season, adding some depth to their line-up, which was among the top contenders for last year’s flag.
After viewing some of last weekend’s games, Dumbrell tipped the 2017 to be just as close as last year.
“I think it’s going to be pretty tight again, which is what you want,” he said.
“(Saturday) will give us another chance to assess where we are at before the season and have a look at Leeton too.”
The Greens have taken to the training field this week to prepare as they normally would.
Coach Brent Pike said a similar team to last weekend would be selected for the semi-final on Saturday.
“We’ve just been preparing as usual,” he said.
“It would be good to win, but we’ll just see how we go.
“Everyone is really positive and upbeat and looking forward to Saturday.”
