Thank you to Tim Hutchinson, Glen Malone, Jim Tabain, Robinson Transport, Teerman’s Transport, Louise and Ray Oxley Earthmoving, Bec McCallum, Thripp Coelli, Southern Cotton, Josh Higgins, Micheal Thomas, Trish Preston, Lorna Robertson, Uvonne and Smiley Morriss and the ladies that sold tickets.
Thanks also to Stephen Morriss, Glenn Dumbrell, Phil Puntoriero and Daniel Sanderson for giving a full Saturday to put our kitchen cupboards and appliances together.
Not forgetting Micheal Sparks who worked above and beyond for many long hours to put the finishing touches to our project.
You are amazing.
In our wildest dreams, the committee never thought we would have our new kitchen completed in 12 months ready for the first game of football on the weekend.
A wonderful effort.
Thanks again for the great support.
It has not gone unnoticed.

Be safe on the roads
POLICE officers across Australia will be out in force over the Easter long weekend but road safety is not just their responsibility.
We owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to accept responsibility for our own actions, every time we get behind the wheel.
Last year over the Easter long weekend 8 people didn’t make it back home; the year before 22 people.
This year let us aim for this to be zero.
As you plan the Easter road trip, try to factor in mini breaks and actions you will take to have a safe and enjoyable long weekend drive. Road trauma is increasing in Australia. After decades of improvements, a spike in recent years demands action from us all.
By working together at a community level, with our police, and at government level across federal, state and local jurisdictions, we can do better, and I'm determined see that happen. The 2016 road deaths total was 1300.
I don't accept that in 2017 another 1300 Australians have to be added in addition to the tens of thousands injured during the year. Of course, governments need to provide safer roads, police need to enforce laws, but drivers need to choose wisely, for themselves, their loved ones and for others.

New-look group
YOUNG producers, agronomists, students and project officers making up this year’s NSW Young Farmers’ Committee will make promoting the state’s agricultural industry a top priority.
The new committee, made up of old and new faces was established at the NSW Young Farmer AGM in Wagga on April 1. The council will focus on a range of initiatives, including the Young Farmer Business Project in collaboration with the NSW Department of Primary Industries, and Healthy Agspirations, an initiative with the Future Health Leaders.

Correction
AN ARTICLE printed by The Irrigator on April 4, incorrectly stated this year’s Riverina Skate Championships will be held on Easter Monday. The correct date for the event is Easter Saturday (April 15).
Yay or Nay
Nay: Leeton Shire Council can we please have the noxious “prickly pear” weed cleaned up on Palm Avenue near the canal? Cannot be hard to do. So have a go, boys.
