THE championship pairs finals were played at the Leeton Soldier's Club in beautiful conditions. The senior pairs teams of Patti Wakeman and Dot Semmler playing Denise Naylor and Helen Symes, both L&D. This was a very close game but Patti and Dot took command and went on to win.

The open district pairs championships were played between the L&D team of Jean Leighton (substituting for Jan Walker) and Joan Lloyd against the Griffith Ex-Servicemen's team of Maria Sosso (substituting for Kathy Elliott) and Gwen Vearing.
