This week's pre-season poll by The Daily Advertiser asking who will win the premiership attracted 280 responses, with six clubs attracting more than 30 votes.
Griffith, favoured by 18% of respondents, narrowly edged out Collingullie-Glenfield Park (17%).
The numbers add to the anticipation ahead of what’s tipped to be one of the tightest title races in years.
Last year’s runners-up Leeton-Whitton (15%) and Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes (13%) both rated ahead of reigning premiers Wagga Tigers (12%) while Coolamon was only a solitary vote behind Tigers.
After breaking a decade-long finals drought last year, Griffith’s off-season was headlined by the signing of gun goalkicker Brent Arho while retaining key players including Jordan Iudica, Will Griggs, Guy Orton and Ben King.
The Swans are at home to the Crows on Saturday night.
