THURSDAY, April 13 saw a good roll up of players for social day and it was a a great day for bowls, and if the banter and laughter were anything to go by, all enjoyed the day.
The drawn winners of the day were Enid Tuckett, Helen Symes and Lorraine Mullins, with Lorraine also the lucky winner of the raffle. Estella Errey having a resting toucher.
Thursday, April 20 the lady bowlers again took to the greens for their social day with all enjoying their bowls.
The drawn winners were Betty Bandy, Enid Tuckett and Lorraine Mullins with Marie Odewahn, the winner of the lovely succulent plant donated by Enid.
There were no resting touchers for the day.
Ladies please keep in mind our friendship day on the Thursday, May 4 – all bring along a friend if possible.
Please everyone have their names in early if they are intending to play and bowls will start at 9.30am.
Tuesday, April 18 the Murrumbidgee Singles Championships began at the Griffith Ex-Servicemens' Club.
Round one: P Wakeman defeated J Bell; J Saddler defeated M Pete, Gwen Vearing defeated R Wade.
Round two: C Elliott defeated H Symes; E Sullivan d P Wakeman; M O'Connell defeated J Saddler and G Vearing defeated D Naylor.
The semi finals will not be played next Tuesday because of Anzac Day and will be played the following week with K Elliott playing E Sullivan and M O'Çonnell playing G Vearing.
The winners of these games will play the finals in the afternoon.

Leeton Soldiers Club
WITH ideal weather for an enjoyable bowling morning our winners were Margaret McKenzie, Margaret O’Leary, Beryl Breed and Marie Stiller who had an easy win over their opponents.
Runners up were Jeannie Plant, Val Bloem and Lee Noble who had to work hard for their victory.
Lunch at the club next week after the game.
The draw for the drawn fours will be out next week.
Play begins at 10am.
