A 26-year-old female and 26-year-old male have been charged with numerous offences after an argument started over the couple remaining at a Leeton resident’s home for an extended period of time. At around 3.30pm on Friday April 21, relatives of the resident, the 21-year-old female victim, told the couple to leave. According to police this resulted in a heated argument and the 26-year-old female brandishing a 30 centimetre boning knife. The victim retreated into the backyard as the male picked up the knife and threatened to stab the victim. The victim left the premises and reported the matter to police. The 26-year-old female and male were subsequently arrested and charged. The female was charge with assault, armed with intent and intimidation while the male was charged with assault, armed with intent, intimidation and resist officer in execution of duty.

Both have been refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court at a later date.
