The third-placed Leeton side will be going head-to-head with Wagga City, who are currently perched at the number one position on the ladder.
The Dianas will be going into the match brimming with confidence after taking down the Albury Steamers 39-0 last week.
Coach Andrew Reilly acknowledged the Steamers were struggling this year, but was pleased his side had been able to get the job done and come away with the points.
“We had a good win,” he said.
“They are struggling this year, but it was a good opportunity for us to give all of our players a run.
“We have girls this year that are new to senior rugby, so for us it was good everyone could have a go on the field.
“It did mean we were trying different things, so we were changing and chopping throughout the match.
“The consistency wasn’t there because of that, but that’s what you expect when you do that.”
Reilly also used the opportunity to help develop the younger players, who will no doubt learn and grow from the experience of the senior level.
The Dianas have now turned their attention to Wagga City, who have proven to be a tough opponent in the past.
The side trained hard on Tuesday night and Reilly is a firm believer that if you put the effort in on the track, come game time that will be reflected.
“Definitely … if you train well you do tend to play well on the day,” he said.
The Dianas expect to make perhaps one or two changes for the match depending on player availability.
This will be determined at the final training run before Saturday’s game, which will be played in Wagga.
“It’s going to be a tough one … they are first and we’re third,” Reilly said.
“We’re playing over there, but I know we are capable of the win.
“If we play like we did against Griffith (two weeks ago) then we are on the right track.”
The Dianas have been working on improving their defence and ball retention.
Reilly was confident if those factors improved in their game each week, the Leeton side would continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
“I think it’s going to be a very interesting game,” he said. “We’re looking forward to it.”
