Griffith Local Area Command Inspector Kim Traynor has met with representatives from Narrandera Shire Council, including mayor Neville Kschenka and interim general manager Judy Charlton regarding community concerns about recent crime in the area. 

Council representatives advised Inspector Traynor of the concerns and frustration of members of the community around the current increase in property theft, including break and enters and thefts from cars.

Inspector Traynor was able to talk with the representatives about the current general status of police investigations.

She assured them police were working to identify and prosecute offenders utilising staff from across the command.

Police and council have now agreed to meet on a regular basis while these problems continue to keep each other updated and lines of communication open.

Both organisations urged the community to continue reporting crime and reminded them information on any crime or suspicious behaviour can be supplied anonymously and will be treated in the strictest confidence.
