Leeton’s women’s sevens side has enjoyed two weeks away from the game thanks to representative byes.
In their way on Saturday will be Wagga Ag College, who they defeated 29-5 in their first meeting this year. The Southern Inland Rugby Union competition has started its second round, with finals already quickly nearing.
Dianas coach Andrew Reilly said the team’s focus remained on each week. “We’ve got a tough couple of games coming up,” he said.
“First and foremost we’re working to get a win this weekend, which will hopefully then hold us in good stead for the matches coming up.” Helping to boost Leeton’s chances in the coming weeks will be their run of home games.
Their next two matches will be played on their home turf.
“I think it is definitely a bit of an advantage,” Reilly said.
“We’ve got just two more away games this season. It helps in terms of availability of players as well.”
