The team will be representing the Riverina at the state finals in Sydney later this year after winning the open netball knockout in Wagga.
This is a feat that has not been equalled in Leeton High School’s netball history to date.
There were four pools at the knockout, with students playing five games within each division.
The Leeton High girls won all games but one, which was a draw with Wade High School.
They finished on top of their pool and then played the top of pool one. This match up was against Wagga Wagga High School, with the Leeton team getting the chocolates on the day, 21-16.
All girls played with outstanding sportsmanship and effort throughout the day. The side will now prepare for the state event in the hopes of continuing their success.
