Anthony Naylor has been employed as the Leeton District Hospital’s new facility manager, coming all the way from his last role in Western Australia to take up the position.
Mr Naylor started on June 19 in the role and spent much of his first week getting to know the ins and outs of the hospital, as well as Leeton itself.
A registered nurse who migrated from the United Kingdom 13 years ago, Mr Naylor is now an Australian citizen and has worked in four states in many clinical roles.
On top of that, he has held several management roles in the last five years and took this opportunity at Leeton to return to country NSW. In his new role, Mr Naylor’s aim will be to enhance the leadership and management at the site.
Cluster manager Jenny Tyrrell congratulated him on his appointment. “We welcome his vast skills to our dynamic team here in Leeton,” she said. The appointment follows the implementation of a new MLHD management structure for small rural hospitals.
Ms Tyrrell said the new structure was aimed at improving the co-ordination of patient care and allowing frontline nurses to spend more time on patient care and less on administration.
“The new structure means we can deliver sustainable health service to our rural communities focused on improving outcomes for patients,” she said. Mr Naylor enjoys photography, fishing and camping in his leisure time. He was also looking forward to meeting the community.
