It comes after an incident was reported to police over the weekend describing an instance of “fake policing” between Darlington Point and Whitton.
Police have confirmed the incident, which was posted by a concerned resident to the I Live in Leeton Facebook page.
The woman posted about her daughter’s scary encounter with someone posing as police officer.
She filed a report with police following the incident where her daughter was stopped by a supposed officer for a random breath test.
“This ‘police officer’ intimidated and verbally abused her even after a breathalyzer reading came back negative,” the post read.
“After investigations by ‘real’ police it is now looking like someone is playing a very bad prank.”
This comes after two reported incidents around Narrandera earlier in June.
In that case, police confirmed two reports of a white Commodore vehicle with a flashing light attempting to pull up cars in Narrandera.
It is believed a white Commodore was also the vehicle used in the incident between Darlington Point and Whitton.
According to the Narrandera Argus, in both instances the car pulled away without incident.
Residents that notice any suspicious behaviour should immediately report to the nearest police station to list their concerns.
Complaints or suspicions can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
