The women’s sevens side returns home to pay Wagga City at No. 1 Oval in what could land them in top spot on the ladder heading into the finals.
After defeating Albury 50-0 last week, the Dianas retained their position in first and will be hoping to do so with another victory over Wagga City.
The side flexed their muscle over the Steamers, easily accounting for them in what could potentially be their last trip on the road this season. Should the Dianas win on Saturday and wrap up the minor premiership, they will book a spot in the major semi-final.
That game is scheduled to take place at No.1 Oval thanks to the Phantoms first grade men’s side already clinching the minor premiership and the hosting rights for that day of finals football.
Win that game and the Dianas will be straight into the final, which if their male counterparts do the side, will also be held in Leeton. There is still plenty of work to do between now and then, starting with a win over Wagga City on Saturday.
Coach Andrew Reilly will be using the game as a measure to see where his side is at before the finals. Residents have been encouraged to be part of the day, which will raise money for Country Hope.
