The Crows went down to Mangoplah Cookardinia United Eastlakes last weekend thanks to costly errors and a lack of accuracy in front of goal.
The match was there for the taking, but Leeton-Whitton were unable to make the most of their chances.
Coach Jade Hodge was hopeful the issues had been rectified in time for this week’s clash with Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
Leeton-Whitton had been on fire prior to the match against the Goannas, but Hodge said a lack of consistency across the ground let them down.
“When we get everything right, everything all goes to plan,” he said.
“When we don’t, the whole game plan seems to just fall away.
“If your effort is down by even five per cent, it’s going to have an impact.”
The Crows have focused on their goal kicking at training this week, as well as other aspects of their game plan ahead of their match against the Lions.
Leeton-Whitton are in fourth on the Riverina Football League ladder, with Griffith slightly ahead in third, based on percentage.
The Lions have won just the two matches this season, but Hodge said the Crows always faced a tough challenge when it came to playing GGGM at home.
“They are a very proud and resilient team,” he said.
“You can never take them lightly, especially at home.
“We want to make sure we’re getting a game plan back to where it was and playing the style of footy we were before the Mango game.”
While the Crows aren’t thinking finals football at the moment, the side was aware it needed to be more consistent in their effort each week.
After this weekend, their next two matches will be at Leeton Showground against Turvey Park and Narrandera, which should give them a slight advantage.
Hodge was expecting to take a similar team into Saturday’s game.
“After last weekend there could be some changes, but we’ll decide that during our selection meeting (Thursday night),” he said.
“Sean Wilkinson, one of our Canberra recruits, is back this week, so that should also give us a boost.
“He’s been away the last three weeks.”
When we get everything right, everything all goes to plan. When we don’t, the whole game plan seems to just fall away.
