Leeton are two points outside the top five on the Group 20 ladder, meaning their finals campaign is effectively underway now.
After having last weekend off thanks to the bye, the Greens are back and raring to go on Sunday against Waratah Tigers at No. 1 Oval.
The side still trained over two nights last weekend before taking a break on Friday and soaking up time away from the field to refresh and regroup.
Prior to the bye, the Greens had two crucial victories over Hay and Darlington Point-Coleambally and will need to continue that run of form in order to make the finals.
West Wyalong are one game ahead of them in fifth, but if the Greens can keep their wins going and rely on other results going their way, finals football remains an option.
“The boys do have a bit of a spring in their step at the moment, which is good for us,” coach Brent Pike said.
“Everyone is ready to get back into it this weekend.
“We need to win from here on in.”
The Tigers are in third on the ladder, meaning it won’t be an easy task.
Last time the two sides met, it was the Griffith side that easily won the match.
However, the Greens were missing several key players due to injury and a further three backed up to play from representative duties in West Wyalong earlier that day.
“We didn’t play that bad against them last time really,” Pike said.
“It was probably only the last 15 minutes of the game where they really blew us away, so if we can start well and play consistent footy, I’m quietly confident.
“They’ve had two easy wins the last couple of weeks and haven’t had to do much defence.
“They aren’t used to having to defend, so hopefully we can tire them out a bit.”
The Greens will welcome back Ben Fisher to the side, which will add experience and depth to the side.
Other than that, Pike expected the team to remain mostly the same as it had been for the two wins before the bye.
“The boys have been training well … we’ve been getting good numbers at training,” Pike said.
“Hopefully it all comes together on the weekend.”
