TERM three is a crucial time for senior students in terms of course completion to guarantee movement into year 12 for preliminary students or to ensure eligibility for the HSC for year 12 students.
Year 11 and 12 students have a limited timeframe to ensure they are well positioned for this next step. T
his includes rectifying any “N awards” that currently exist well before the end of term when grades/marks need to be entered.

FOR the last 10 school Wednesdays, prospective 2018 year 7 students have been part of a transition program where they have experienced lessons in Japanese, technology, cooking and science.
Wednesday was the culmination of this program and was followed by the second annual enrolment evening in the library.
Information about Leeton High School and enrolment packages were issued, as well as providing a forum for parents and students to ask the questions that were nagging them as the decision time for enrolment in 2018 edges closer.

LAST term during production week of Legally Blonde Jr the Riverina Dance Festival was held.
Unfortunately LHS was unable to participate this year.
During the official opening of the festival, six students from across the Riverina were presented with certificate in recognition of their acceptance into the NSW Public Schools Dance Ensemble.
Three of those six students all came from Leeton High.
They were Dearne Hunter-Boyd (year 11), Madison Teerman (year 9) and Emika Gooley (year 7).
The girls will attend several workshops as part of this ensemble and will perform at prestigious events such as the State Dance Festival and Schools Spectacular with this group.

YEAR 10 student Talise Rudd recently travelled to the Hunter Valley in week 10 of last term to compete in the NSW CHS State Golf Championships and All Schools Selection Trials held jointly at Pacific Dunes Golf Club and Newcastle Golf Club.
Talise and the other two Riverina girls acquitted themselves admirably on the beautifully manicured but extremely tough layouts finishing overall fourth in the state in the CHS teams event.
Despite the challenging conditions, having to tee off very early each day and battling the rain on days two and three, Talise thoroughly enjoyed the experience and improved her scratch scores on each day of the event.
A huge congratulations goes out to Talise and the Riverina Team and hopefully this fantastic effort can further inspire other Leeton High students, both boys and girls, to take up the much underrated and extremely rewarding sport of golf.
